Kwik-n-eze tan

Submitted by T.J. on 2/22/05 at 12:34 PM. ( )

I have always used a commercial tannery. A trapper told me to try Rittels kwik-n-eze. I was wondering how well it works on deer capes, and how much high humidity areas affect this type of tan. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

KWIK-N-EZE is an excellent choice for WT Deer capes. Its a combination of our EZ-100 Tan and a highly penetrating Oil. We recommend it be used in conjunction with a pickle and neutralizing bath prior to its application for the best results.

As for its reaction in high humidity areas - that shouldn't be a problem for you or your customers. Normally if you rinse the cape well after removing it from the pickle, then draining it - the bulk of any Salt residue should be eliminated. Then also neutralizing it should further remove any Salt residue. When it comes to humidity and the cape weeping with moisture - usually Salt is always the culprit!
