I am going to do a small lifesize deer and the hide is wet tanned by a commercial tannery. Just wondering what to use to keep the hide moist while mounting. This is my 1st life size so I know it will take me a while. Can the hide be misted with plain water or must something else be used? Also if it is not finished in 1 day what is the best way to keep it from drying out?

I use plastic freezer wrap unless I can tape a plastic garbage bag over the mount to keep it from drying before I finish.
I just keep a spray bottle of plain old H2O on hand and spray it as needed.
