how should i tan a full body mount

im doing a full body whitetail from wisconsin, heavy coat 4.5 year old buck. it did have a wound slightly infected in wound area only. cape is very good, hair is tight. i normaly use rineharts cream tan without pickleing. should i pickle this one or not before i cream tan it?

Those cream tans. They do have a higher likelyhood of slippage problems, probably because of the no pickle stage. Yes, I would pickle it and use a brush on tan or Lutan FN.

For a lifesize deer, that's an investment of time as well as money. Chancing any "home tan" could be even more costly. Send it out.
