Best way to prepare a badger skin for tanning

Hello,

I have a fresh badger and am preparing it to be tanned with a salt/alum tanning solution. The skin has been removed from the body and the excess meat taken off. I am left with what appears to be a layer of fatty tissue shot through with blood vessels that is actually atatched to the skin rather than next to it. Any suggestions about how to remove this layer and get down to the skin?

Thank you,

David

Keep fleshing

Badgers are covered in fat and it all has to be removed. They need to be degreased as well after the pickle.

Keep fleshing until the skin is clean and proceed with your tanning procedure. DON'T forget the degreasing!
