I am getting ready to mount my first animal. I bought a commercially wet-tanned pelt, because it is already soaked up (no annoying rehydration!) and I would suggest them to anybody. It's just a much more simple way to do things. Store the pelt in your freezer until you're ready to do the work. Wet-tanned pelts are just like dry-tanned pelts (not garment-tanned tho), except that they're already ready to mount. Make sure you post again if you have any other questions!
