I know the auto tanner haws been around for a while now, but can anyone tell me if there has been any drawbacks to the hide on the mounts in the long run? thanks for any help.

is that after the pickle, the hide is not as plump for shaveing as a soak would make it, if you want to call that a drawback, it would be a minor one at that. my 2 cents.
I use the Whitetail Designer system leatherizing acid. I get as much stretch as a raw cape.I use stop rot on it before splitting turning and rough fleshing.I go stright into the pickle with out salting.I finish it with the rest of there rub on tan. It has very little shrinkage and shaves very nicely. I have used several different types of pickles and tans in the tanner, but like this one best. Randall
