Is Lutan F Tanned Fur OK for Outdoor Use?

I told a friend of mine about tanning some furs for archery quivers, and he asked me if the chemical tan would hold up in damp outdoor conditions. I suppose I assumed this tan would be fine, but now I wonder because taxidermy wouldn't require that, and I think I read where Lutan will wash out?

I think it would be ok to use the skins for arrow quivers just as long as you only used them when it's not raining. Yes, It will wash out. That is the main reason for us switching to Rittels Product. EZ tan is cheaper.

Thanks

I will certainly switch to EZ Tan for future projects, I had read that it didn't wash out but at the time I didn't think of the ramifications as far as moisture. These quivers won't see a lot of dampness anyway. I wouldn't carry one in the woods on a hunting trip, that would be asking to get shot at. They're just for looking good at the 3D shoots.

I just turned the fur out on my coyote, and boy it turned out good!
