Is it okay to pickle a rattlesnake in saftee acid. If so what is the best tan to use.

I have done it several times and it works great. I also use Rittels EZ 100 to tan them. You will have very little color fade also. I also use regular ol tanning oil. Basically the same process for hair on hides but I cut the pickling and tanning time. I pickled for 4 hrs and neutralized for 10 min. Tanned for 4 hrs. They are soft nice and tanned.

making a hat band out of a rattlesnake skin

I have salted and used glicerine on my snakeskin. My question is how do I proceed to make a hat band out of the skin.
