I have an air dried wall hanger fisher

Hey yall I have a air dried wallhanger fisher here in Tx that I bought its airdired and I wanted to know if when I tan it and put it in the relaxer which is Bruce Rittels Relaxer that my pelt is so stiff Im going to have to dampen it or I won't be able to turn it to soak it flesh side out. also the ears are real stiff and flattened like an Ironing board I hope can turn them after Im threw tanning it. I think so ?

If you follow the instructions,EXACTLY,you should be fine.The relaxer,will soften the hide so that you can invert the hide to turn the ears ect.Pre dampening the hide(in my opinion) only invites bacterial growth , which is the primary cause of hair slipping.Bruce Rittel, does consulying for, and suplies ,chemicals to, a huge number of the commercial tanneries in the U.S., AND, as busy as he is,he sits down ,each day, to personaly answer E-mails.(hard to get him on the phone), but,if you call and leave a msg.,he will call back ).Here is a link to his web site, Rittel@mindspring.com As i said ,Bruce is busy, but, if you explain ,exactly ,your situation,( so he's clear on what you are trying to do)he will steer you in the right direction.
