Look in any taxidermy supply catalog that sells it, they may have a description.

Were you guys coming from ? Before you can fleash you have know how to skin and before you can tan you have to be able to skin and fleash. To tan any thing you have to deceide what kind of tan you care to use, there is a lot of diffrent tans, get a catalog and study it.

I would think...

...the MSDS would say what acid was in it, and any other ingredients.

Its not like you could buy the stuff a whole lot cheaper from a chemical supply company. Especially in small quantities.

thanks

Safety acid

The MSDS on saftey acid says; Petroleum Solvent CAS #6472-48-49(chemical listing) as the hazardous end of the spectrum.
The non-hazrdous is; Dioctyl Sodium Sulphosuccinate CAS # 6472-11-7
Tall oil fatty acid CAS #6472-48-9
nonylphenol polyethylene glycol ether CAS #26027-38-3

And that about does it. Nothing to hasrsh. From my limited chemical backround, the petroleum solvent is the base.
What I do know about Bruces goodies, THEY WORK!

Interesting

The DSS and NPGE are sort of soap-like materials for wetting, dispersing and emulsifying, the tall oil fatty acids provide your acidic condition needed to kill bacteria. The solvent is probably just there to help keep these compounds (and the fatty stuff from your skins) in solution. These are just my guesses, I'm no expert.

I agree, Safetee Acid is a very effective product. I definitely don't think you could buy the stuff individually and make your own and cheaper than you could buy it. Vinegar or mineral acids give you a low pH but not the other actions of this product. Definitely more to it than just an acid.

thats what i thought

thats what i thought, that there must be something else in the mix.
dont have time to mix up my own concotions. but the mix in saftee acid is just right. even hides with heavy blood residue or stains in
skin come out white. have tried all the other acids in this works the best. i have my own water well and a few weeks ago we put in a
acid filter and water softener, to remove iron, acid. the water tested soft but was high in acid and iron now its dead soft with no iron or acid. the first pickle with this new water was a major improvement also.
