Tanning Oils?

Submitted by tom sawyer on 3/31/05 at 3:58 PM. ( ) 67.67.99.82

I used a Van Dykes kit that had a tanning oil in it. The stuff is water-soluble, so I don't think it is actually an oil at all. Is this a glycol or something like that? Anybody got an MSDS? Thanks.

Not trying to make my own, simply want to know what substances I am dealing with.

I personally don't care for the water soluble oils. I use Knoblochs #1 tanning oil. It goes on pure. WASCO has a pretty good oil called Soft tanning oil.
