FREEZING... WHY?

Submitted by Joe on 3/31/05 at 6:52 PM. ( ) 154.20.184.159

I have been reading many of these letters and at the end of most of them, it says to freeze the furs after finnishing the whole process. Does this have to be done, or can you just put the pelt on your wall or whatever.
PS.
Please don't write to look on the search button, beacause I have already tried and I have read MANY ridiculious arguments about this small matter.

Thank you

Freezing is a step in WET tanning. not dry tanning. If you want to hang the pelt or hide it must be dried.. if you are going to mount it you should freeze it because you don't want it to dry until it's mounted. does this clear things up for you? joe

Tanning any skin is no small matter, its a process that you must follow or all your work is in vain.It appears you would like to tan a skin for a wall hanger, you don't need to freeze it.Go aheard and oil it and hage it to dry, start breaking it as it dries

Only freeze
