I have the dakota V flesher and have followed all instructions to set up the machine.
I also have the video that came with it and while the visual/sound quality is poor i've managed so far.
I cannot find refrence to remeding the guards actually touching the blade and rubbing when i manually turn the blade a little.
Ive worked out how to adjust their positions otherwise.
Before i start fiddeling without knowing what im doing -
I can see small set screws in the horizontal 'bars', (not the adjustment nuts), that hold the guides - are these what i am supposed to use to adjust the guide away from the blade?
Or do i simply sand paper away a tiny fraction of the guard depth? (plastic)
Its just a tiny bit at the lowest point of both guards.
This is probably a simple step but the only man helping me here in australia is ill (and looks like being so for a while) and i dont want to bother him just now.
I have also used fleshers briefly before but this wasn't an issue.

Why don't you give Van Dykes a call and they will put you thru to someone that knows all about them, I had a problem with mine and he talked me thru it and listened to it run over the phone and told me when I had it adjusted right.. Hope this helps
Yup - knew it was a simple question.
