New Method Fur Poor Customer Service

I would like to warn other taxidermists to be aware that New Method Fur Dressers does not provide very good customer service when it comes to resolving problems. I recently sent in a small shipment of hides for tanning and did not receive back the hides I had sent in. In my shipment I had 1 whitetail full, i axis full and 2 raccoons cased no feet. The shipment came back with 2 raccoons cased skinned no feet and no tail. I use a plastic tagging system and the hole that should have been in my hides if they removed the tags at the tannery were NOT there. They were there on the deer hides. I contacted the tannery presuming that my hides and some one else's had accidentally been mixed up. I spoke with Mr. Malek and he told nme they had sent out a confirmation for the order and that it stated the hides had no tail or feet. I tried to explain to him that for whatever reason I had not recieved any confirmation and that the rest of my hides were correct but that the two raccoons were not mine. He basically informed me that anything that went wrong happened on my end and that according to their records and procedures there was no way a mistake could have been made on their end. He offered no resolution or compensation. I would have been happy to send the hides back in case they belonged to another taxidermist and send in two more raccoons if they would have provided tanning at no charge to resolve the manner. This would have made the customer and my self happy and resolved the issue. The quality of the tanning on all the hides and ones I have sent in the past was respectable, however with Mr. Malek's attitude towards the problem I feel New Method Fur Dressers lacks significantly in their customer relations/tracking skills and will not recommend them to anyone else. There are several tanneries who offer tanning that is of the same or better quality and are a lot more willing to help a customer resolve a problem. In addition if any taxidermist out there who reads this sent two raccoons to New Method that were cased no feet or tails and didn't get theirs back, contact me, I have them. Likewise if you have mine let me know. Avoid New Method Fur Dressers. There are better out there.

used New Method consistantly for over 31 years and have sent "ALOT" of work to them, in the order of many thousands of dollars every year. I have also used and tried other tanneries from time to time. I keep going back to New Method because of thier CONSISTANT quality and great service and I will continue to do so. All tanneries make mistakes now and then, LIKE ALL OF HAVE and ALL tanneries will, esp. those that have been in business any length of time. I would send those coons back to him now and explain in writing your tagging and other concerns and then ask him to reply in writing before proceeding any further.

even a caveman would understand
