george i have a question

im in favor of formic acid for pickling.but im looking for a new oil to tan with.i was wondering would it be a good combination to use jrts after a formic pickle?would they be compatible?

For me I have found that Knobloch's #1 tanning oil is the best that I have found for myself. There are others besides this, Bruce Rittel also has a good oil that works great on any kind tanned hides.
Now if your using a rub on tan then you have Quick an Eze from Rittel's or Liqua-tan from Knobloch's. Apply them and let the hides soak the tan for 24 hrs, then aplly the tanning oil to the hide.

It'll work just fine

JRTS is very similar to Liqui-Tan, though IN MY OPINION, it has much more lanolin and oil.
