Just getting into it. I made a tumbler out of a dryer. Going to use it on the next deer. What is a good material to use in there to break up the hide alittle, clean, and remove excess oil?

I use hardwood sawdust from a local lumber yard. I use Oak and Maple with great results! check the local mills in your area! Joe
for breaking the hide. I made the same mistake. Buy Mr Rittels tumbler plans and build you one. There is not enough room in the drum for the hide to drop. It will just roll around.
