Does anyone have any good fleshing tool ideas that you can find around the house? I can't get a fleshing knife or a machine, but was wondering if any home tools would do good. Its a fatty coon so i need something thats good for that. Any ideas?
Thanks

I have used a paint scraper, in fact I have tried several different varieties of paint scrapers and they all seemed to work great for me.

Band saw blade

Cut a broom stick off (with permission of course, LOL) to a hand sized piece. With a Dremel or a drill cut a slot in the top, but don't break the sides. Take an old half inch or larger bandsaw blade with coarse teeth and cut a piece about 24 inches. Pour quick setting epoxy down in the slot, fold the blade till both ends touch, and shove this end down into the slot. Let cure. It works great for fleshing as well as currying your dogs and cats.

Nice tip George

Read your tip and decided to give it a try. Used an old shovel handle because I thought the fatter handle would be easier on my hands. Swiped an old bandsaw blade my dad had sitting around since about 1960 (he no longer ownes the badsaw). Went together as you said. I ended up making four-- they'll make nice fish scrapers. Thanks.
