I have 3 hides left to tan. I normally use my auto tanner, but I have sold my home and the new one will not be ready untill later this year. I was thinking of sending these capes to a tanner to have them tanned. My question I usally do not salt my capes for the auto tanner. With the temps around 90 here will it be safe to thaw then salt these or bcause they are good friends, and not in a hurry should i wait. Any comments will be helpfull. Thank You

I got a tanner too. If they can wait, then great. If they cant, then you can thaw and salt without a problem. Dont leave them in the sun and keep them as cool as possible. (common sense) But, by the time you get them double salted, dried, boxed and shipped out you probably could have them done or close to it right? Sounds like you got enought to do as it is (moving is always a bitch) so why add to the stress by having 3 capes to do when your finished moving in? (Just my opinion)
The last thing you want to do is clean up a mess on your new home floor. Do all your tanning before you pack up youe a/t to move. Or, do them after.
I would not risk the capes from good friends' animals by sending them out, except maybe to a real top-notch outfit (Wildlife Gallery, whom I have never used, but they apparently do the best work).
Boo all of you people are meen for killing poor creatures
