Uh oh...

So I called the tannery today to get a ship date on pelts because I have a pre-order contingent on having them in hand "soon".
During my talks with the tannery owner, I was told he "had to count the tails"
He cut the tails off my pelts!
Before I jump right in to Lawsuit Mode... as I did document these skins as meticulously as I posted for the cyyotehunter guy to do and I did take tons of photos... is there a concrete, good, valid reason that someone should cut the tails off the pelts during routine dressing?
I was told "if they look like they'll break off in the tumbler, I cut them off"
Which I said was probably ok because some of the tails did have some rip (but none had become detached). I would say about 5% of the entire order of pelts had this problem.
Which means the loose tails in the box should number no greater then 4 or 5.

Find yourself a new tannery . This guy doesnt know what the heck he's doing . I have never heard of anyone doing this to skins and I've been sending stuff out since the 70's . Rick

I have never cut a tail off a customers hide. Once in a blue moon one will come off on the bench knife, but never intentionally.

Is this the same tanner you have been posting about for awhile now? You seem to be a glutton for punishment. I would find a new tanner pronto!
