I ordered an eager beaver through Bruce Rittel (NOT HIS FAULT) at the beginning of april, paid for it and still have not received word or even confirmation or anything. I ordered a blade prior to that....back in March and never got it either.....If this is the kind of service they have than I am pretty sure I don't want to deal with them. I am considering trying to get a refund and buying a different machine. I thought I would go with a top of the line machine and now have customers waiting.....God forbid something happen to the machine (that is if I ever get it) during the season and it need repaired! Anybody suggest any different machines or have any experience with stuarts manufacturing? Again, this is NOT Bruce's fault....he is just the middle man.

I also just reciently had the same problems as you, what I did is call Stewart Manf.which took almost a week to get any answer, and talked to a young kid and explained to him that 2 months was long enough and I wanted a refund, and will purchase a flesher that provided some customer service. Well can you believe it,. I had it in 7 days. I dont think fleshers are thier #1 priority, or they would be more customer friendly, but it is a great machine.
If you decide to try a different machine, then why don't you try contacting Bill with Rawhide? He is still producing machines and can get you onto a good one. 1-610-398-1948
You will love his slogan: Let Us Flesh Your Beaver!
Been making them since 1978 I believe.
They may accumulate orders before going into production to produce batch runs of certain parts. If they have to cast metal parts, it only makes sense to cast 100 pieces. vs. a dozen. It's just a thought. Where I work, we have to order oddball size steel 6-8 weeks in advance sometimes and wait for a millrun to be produced. The steel companies wait till they can make a batch large enough of that certain size steel to cover several customers at once, or they won't mill it at all. It's a good bet that this is the case with the Eager Beaver company.
I also had the same problem. Ordered the shaver directly from Stuart Manufacturing in Feb 05. Come Apr I too was ready for a refund. It took me over a month to get ahold of them. There answering machine had over 50 messages on it - from the number of beeps the machine had - old answering machine. And when I did get thru, the machine had alreaady been shipped and just happen to arrive the next day. What timing for them. But I too question the service if/when something fails.
i got it in four days
all aluminum billet
can hardly hear it run
super easy blade change
and easy to clean
and i dont need a hammer to adjust the guards like my old one
guards adjust every which way you can think of
great investment
could not be happier
I ordered a machine directly from the company with the promise of a 1 month delivery. Four months later, I was still waiting for the machine; so I called up and left a message, that if the machine was not on my doorstep in 1 week I would cancel the order. Five days later I had the machine.
