STOP-ROT is not a magical potion that will take a bad hide and fix it and make it all better. Does this make sense? I have used it on some pretty ugly hides that were starting to slip. after using STOP-ROT on them, the slippage stopped. it did not fix the damage that has allready been done, but instead prevented it from getting worse. You said "... it didn't stop the slippage" Well, More than likely the slippage was allready there, the hair had not fallen out yet. Was the hide green?
I have tried to use STOP-ROT on a tanned cape that I was going to loose because of a bad postmortem chemical reaction with no luck at all. However I have also used STOP-ROT on a green cape with the same chemical reaction. The slippage was stopped dead in it's tracks!
I am sorry you lost your hide, Maybe Glen can shine some light as to why? Joe
Stop Slip was developed over 15 years ago with lots of proven success. Spray or sponge it on any affected areas then either let soak in and tan or if its on a tanned skin apply to the affected area getting it in the skin and mount also can be used after mounting. Call us or emial if you have any questions or need a free techincal booklet.

is STOP-ROT on a green cape, and STOP SLIP on a tanned cape. I use them both, I have seen some comments like paul e's, and think there is a lot of potential in post tanned capes and hides. The cape I was refering to was allready lost due to a postmortem chemical reaction. NOT BACTERIA. I have also seen another post by Dan Hudzik on 07-01-2005 with somthing very similar to what paul e is saying. My comment to paul e... "if the shoe fits... ware it" Joe
