Shaving the Hides

I have just started working with hides and I was wondering what tools work best for shaving the hides, and where I could get them?

Cameron,a fleshing machine will be your best tool for shaving hides,but that takes some practice,you can do some very good shaving by hand,but that takes considerable time compared to using a machine.You can flesh also by buying a wire wheel for your bench grinder.Some folks have also talked about using a high pressure sprayer on hides-I can't comment on this method because I have not done it.McKenzie Taxidermy puts out a good video on fleshing and tanning-in this video you see Mike Gillis fleshing with a knife and then they go to a fleshing machine-very good video-hope this helps -John W.
