I recently mounted 2 bucks killed from the same ranch and each of the two has these "yellow" stains on them. I wouldn't have thought much about it except that I also hunt the same place and do not remember these stains nor do they seem to be there in the harvest pictures. I used a commercial tannery and have used this tannery for over 10 yrs and I never seen anything similar. I was wondering if anything at the tannery might have caused this: sawdust, chemicals etc. I have used white skin dye to help lighten the "white" areas but am at a lost for what to do with the stains in the brown and gray areas other then let it go that way. I haven't seen any other capes this way YET, but am not sure what other ones were in this same batch. Anybody have any ideas on what could have caused the stains and better yet, how to fix it ?
