is a pretty good machine if you are on a budget. Yes, it does come with guards. There are some much better machines out there like the Dakota Pro if you have the money. Buy one used if you can.

I have a IV and I like it. It is small and you can work in smome tight places bigger fleshers can't get. It is a good machine for the money. Mine was used when I bought it and it works great.

Overall I like this machine. However the guard is a bit of a pain to set. "only my opinion" if I had it to do over again I would get the PRO.

I have both

I have both machines.I basically learned on the smaller unit and now do almost all my work with the 12 inch, which includes most of the face work on deer capes.

I'm selling mine!

I have the Dakota IV and have only used it a few times I bought it 2 years ago, I don't do taxidermy anymore and have no need for it. Let me know if you are interested in a used one. I have 2 blades for it. It is in Excellent condition.
