after you pickle a hide do you have to tan it or can you dp it

After pickle, rinse it cool water,
wash it iin Dawn or Liquid Tied (if needed)
flesh it (again)
if needed return to pickle,allows you to shave it (again)
neutrilze it 2-5 0z. of sal soda or arm and hammer or
sodium bicarbonite for 20 -30 minutes.

THEN..tan or dp.. deep freeze, your choice.

WHY WOULD YOU DP A PICKLED HIDE? Geez guys, pickling goes with TANNING. DP is a stand alone. You guys may as well scroll down and use the dumber kerosene and baking soda listed there. I can't believe some of the stuff I read here.

the skin is stabilized after pickle - neutralize and mount immediately or freeze - a lot of taxidermists do this w/o oiling
