tanning bear skins

What would be the major points to keep in mind when tanning a bear skin for a rug as opposed to doing a coyote or other tanning?

and shave to the hair roots. other than that its all the same.

Its not shaved quite to the roots will it be stiff once it is dry?

you need a tumbler to soften
