I have a Question

Hello ladies and gentalmen! I am tanning some hides in some saftee acid and i had some good luck with it. I have done about a dozen hides so far. Well any ways I took my hide out of the pickle to shave it thinner and in the middle of the process i had a family emergancy so i threw my hide back in the pickle. So I am okay so far but i am not done shaving it. Can i take my hide out again, drip dry it and roll it in my towel, and start shaving again.

most certainly. Some of the skins I get are really thick and my old back can't take shaving the skins in one session. I always return to the pickle and re-shave as many times as it takes.

I agree

with John. They will be just fine. Over-neutralisation is your worst enemy in tanning, not pickeling. Consider a pickle you safe place!

Better than a freezer!

Pickles dont need electricity - freezers do! You'll be fine. Read the previous post here.
