Do most skins shrink after tanning with Ez Tan ?

Is it perfectly normal to have tanned skins shrink during the drying process ? I have been tanning with Ez 100 and my skins whcihc are case skinned fisher, coyote, bobcat, have all shrunk and inch and a half to two inches is this really bad ? I break all my pelts mannually over a ply wood board. I do however stretch them as they drying and I continually work the pelt back and forth. should I stretch them with a wire fur stretcher ? What is the best way to eliminate this shrinkage problem ?

They all shrink during drying, no matter what tan you use. Wet tans are oiled also. As far as a dry tan goes, its going to be hard to get anything close to the skins origional size, without more equiptment .
