I used the small mammal tanning kit from Lutan-F, followed the directions, but it has been about 1.5 weeks since I have put the tanning oil on the hide (raccoon), and the skin side is still very moist and oily feeling.
What did I do wrong?
Can I fix it?

If you applied too much oil then you can tumble it in a sawdust drum to help clean it. If you are to mount it the drop it in a bath to rehydrate/wash then mount it.
You can wash it even if its for a flat skin in some Kemsol Degreaser then drain, at this point you may need to lighly oil it. As it dries it may get stiff thats why you may need to re-oil but very lightly. Also did the kit inclued any degreaser or did it tell you to. Coon should be.
Did you degrease the hide before you tanned it?
I did degrease it, but I may not have degreased it properly....
What kind of oil did you use?
