Where do I obtain wood alcohol and turpintine and can denatured alcohol be used instead?

Wow Bob that rolls back time. I used that method on a muskrat many years ago (Northwest School method). I used denatured alcohol instead. It puckered up the hide just as well.
Did it once never agian.
