I am on my second deer head. My first one turned out good. The hide feels like it is dirty. On my next one after I oil can I wash? I use Lutan-F to tan. Thank you for your help.

cold water, not hot, Lutan will wash out, but not with a quick cold water rinse. After the oil has wicked in, you can rinse the cape, even use a mild shampoo on the hair side, rinse out quickly, spin or towel dry, then mount. The shampoo makes it smell nice, and cleans the hair very well.
