Just my 2 cents.....
The first wet tan ever marketed was by Seminole Fur in Alabama. They were impossible to beat since they were the only ones who offered it at the time. From there, others took it. I've had some exceptional work done by East Coast. Carolina Fur has an exceptionally good wet tans and on the African stuff, I don't know of anyone who can touch them. HOWEVER, as I said, I'm not so sure it's the tan as the preparation prior to the tanning. A good tan on a shoddily shaved hide isn't anything to crow about. Personally, I do a great wet tan for myself and I get a whole lot more stretch than the commercial tanneries, but I stick to whitetails in shop. There's a lot to be said about doing your own.
Dogcreek Tannery's wet tan saves me hours of work (especially on the big stuff like buffalo). 918-261-4857 or dogcreek.net
Of all the guys I listed, none of them ever had any "mess" on them. East Coast's tans looked like they'd just come out of a washing machine and Carolina's has a sweet lanolin smell, but certainly no "mess".
Havent been around lately. Im still here given em hell! There are a few that can tell you I aint as big of a prick in person, as I am on here!
I've been around but just watching and reading. It's alot less head ache when I keep to myself...Take care
I really like the wet tan I get from H&H fur dressing. I get really good stretch and they are clean when I get them back. Good luck in you search.
I've used carolinas and western skies, and I promise you cannot beat a western skies wet tan.
