It wouldn't hurt to give it a quick rinse in COLD water to get rid of blood and other dirt. Dunk it in and out, dump the water, rinse again, maybe three times till the water is clear, no more than 5 minutes total is needed, do not add soap, just rinse and go. If you dont, you will be tanning in a mud and blood soup.
Yes you do, I use Dawn dish soap. A dab on everything that is white, and clean rinse in cold water.
