Forgot to neutralize

I forgot to neutralize after being pickled in Van Dyke's pickling crystals. I washed with Dawn dish soap solution. Wrung out and tanned with LiquiTan. Will tanned capes be ok for mounting?

but their are better ways to tan skins.

I don't know what's "better"

Unless it's done professionally. My only problem is I see a lot of people "wringing" hides out. You should NEVER, EVER, wring a hide for any reason unless you want to damage hair and fur.

And remember, you never "forget". You just "do not recall" or as in this case, you just omitted the correct step. Otherwise, you wouldn't have remembered it now.

Liqua-Tan is fine

I have throw pieces tanned with Liqua-tan that are as soft as pieces done with ez-100 or lutan-f.I use all 3 tans,Liqua-tan the most,it's all in the breaking,George uses Rineharts cream tan,it works great for him,if there are better tans out there I need convincing, cause I use what works.
