Tanning domestic sheep

Submitted by Christi on 2/8/06 at 11:52 AM. ( christigo18@aol.com )

I am looking for somebody that is willing to commercially tan a domestic sheep hide. Somebody already used The McKinzie tan on it. They did not know about the oils in the hide. What can be done with this.
I have called a few places but people don't seem to be to interested in it.
Can it still be commercially tanned?

Thanks for the time.

I sent an email with the shipping address. That hide should not be a problem for my operation.

Just seen your response to someone need.
I am in New Zealand and having lots of trouble finding a process where I can obtain all ingredientrs needed.

We wrongly (I think) soaked to skinds for two days first in water( I belive this is more for a leather product). Today I am taking them out to salt but wondered if you had a taning proceedure you could share.
