Can I re-tan a fox

I tanned a Red Fox using Krowtan 2000 But due to some problems with a couple of deer capes I tanned with the Krowtan I am considering re-tanning the Red Fox with the current Tan I use which is a Citric Acid Tan with The last step using Tanning Oil after the acid bath. Would this in any way hurt the cape?
Thank you for any help!

This doesn't make sence.

You tanned the fox using an actual tan. Now you want to "pickle" and oil the fur. Citric acid is not a tan... It's just a pickle. This method sounds like something that taxidermist did some 40 years ago to preserve capes for mounting. Your citric acid pickle/oil will be no better than the Krowtann 2000 you already did. Joe
