I use McKenzie Tan will great results. Just a question I have is can I oil the cape after tanning and before I mount the deer. I do this for rug mounts but never a whitetail shoulder mount.

You can oil after using McKenzie tan.I personally would only oil again if making this skin into a throw piece.You really don't need to oil again if your just mounting,but this won't hurt anything either.
