Rolling salted capes?

When I look through the archives about salting capes a lot of people say to " Rub the salt isn realy well and roll the capes up". What is the purpose of rolling the cape up? Wouldn't it keep the cape from draining?

Lay the cape on an incline so it will drain.

Always fold!

You're absolutely right - never roll - always fold! Otherwise the fluids are unable to drain away! This is true when salting or oiling. Instead - always fold them like a towel.

Even when freezing capes and skins - folded capes and skins freeze faster - and thaw more evenly!
