Is there a quality tannery in Canada? I just found out today that you cant bring caribou into the U.S. unles its tanned or ready to hang on the wall.

And who informed you of that
I am reading this on hunting sites today....March 18,06. Some european capes and antlers,(from Spain) have been returned by the US to Spain due to BSE,(mad cow in europe)...this applies to Canada also. All BSE countries are involved.
I don't think this is a hoax, Perhaps George needs to get on the soap box to Washington again...or move operations to Canada!
It's no hoax. I do know that, But I have a trip planned for Canada This Augest for Caribou and need to know if there is a good tannery up there. Any info would be great.
get my cape to a good taxidermist in Canada, and let him/her tan it and then ship. I have used only one tannery in Canada and they shrink my skins...
I'm in the east and if you are going bou hunting in NFL Labrador their a good taxidermist in the area. And they can do a good job of tanning a cape or hide... Perhaps your guide, outfitter might have a good suggestion.
WE just sent some deer skins to the states tanned I'll have more info tomorrow e-mail me and I'll have answers tomorrow
