I feel like an idiot! I turn my auto tanner off (apparently not really off), take the cover off, and take the hides out and hang them up to drain. Of course there are still a couple of gallons of tanning solution in the tank. Well, after about 5 minutes, the tanner starts up again and spills the solution out on the floor. I know, I should have a bucket under there to catch it, but does anyone else have a problem turning the dial to the "off" position. I am going to start unplugging it everytime I am done. This has happened to me more than once - slow learner!

Make sure whe you turn it off you don't go by to the "hold"position on the switch.I've been using one forever and never dumped it like that.
your own advise might be best; keep a tub under it if you have solution in it.
My tanner always shuts off with the door in the down position, I have always used a tub, and one time ran it late at night, got up in the am and found that the tub was full, and the tank empty of fluid and air. The gauge rusted out and the whole tank emptied through that pin hole into the tub. What a mess that would have been without the tub under the tank.
I have never had the problem of shutting it off like you seem to have, you have a bad switch or are doing something wrong.
