it depends on what the thickness of the hyde your sewing. abear or moose hyde would require you to have a double walking foot machine. you can buy one of these used from an ulpolstry shopor some where they need a heavy sewing machine. you could probably pick one up fairly reasonable,say about 1000.00. i own a korean model that i bought brand new in 1992. got it for a good price at 1800.00 brand new. the machine is a sunstar double walking foot.You could start by e-mailing mason sewing warehouse in vancouver. as far as the lighter skins you could use an old singer but use the largest stitch! good luck!
