i have a buck cape that measured 17in before i tanned it is now 16in, i tan with eztan pickle with saftee tan. do i just need to stretch it more i worked with it a little, is this typical to happen after tanning? should i expect to lose an inch or should it be the other way around gain an inch.

well was it shaved? if you didnt shave well youll lose more than an inch. if shaved well you can gain several inches.
i gain as much as 4" after oiling skin and letting it set overnight
i have noticed that when a cape is a little tight after tanning < i use citric acid , lutan , and a quality oil > i can get that measurment i started with by giving them a day or two in the fridge rapped up in a bag . an extended relaxing period < never had a problem doin it that way> good luck!
