I am going bear hunting for the first time this fall. During hunting season all of my disposable income is used for hunting and fishing trips. What should I do with my bear hide to save it until I can afford to bring it in next spring?

If you are not a taxidermist and/or are unfamiliar with "fleshing", and "turning ears", you shoudl never EVER allow the word "salt" to enter your conversation.
Once you have it frozen, contact area taxidermists and ask them about the possibility of a payment plan whereby he'd prep the hide and possibly have it tanned for later taxidermy work.
