Blueish stain on fur of white rabbit pelt

I've just taken a white dwarf rabbit pelt out of the Leder's tanning solution (I beleive it is chrome based solution), the skin side is a blue color, yet the white fur has also taken up some of the color. Is this expected? If so is there anyway of restoring the whiteness of the fur?

Thanks in advance..

Matthew

Wash the pelt thoroughly a few times with plain soapy water. If Leder's is truly chrome-based, the chrome will come right off the fur and stay in the leather just fine after a good washing. Then oil the pelt and break as usual. Oh, chrome dries a lot lighter then it looks. White fur tends to look pretty transparent when it's wet. The leather should dry to a pale greenish-blue color with the fur looking unchanged.
