Have you ever done an elk? First off if you have not they are alot to handle shaving. It is well worth the money to let the tannery handle it. I did my first one because I wanted to see what it was like. Well never again. Personally I will always send them off. The same goes for bison. Also You will certainly need a very large container and a good bit of Krowtan if you decide to do it yourself. I would recommend a submersible tan like Lutan-F or Rittels EZE 100 (Because of the size). But that is just me.I have done deer and small mammals with Krowtan with good results. But something that large I am not sure I would try.
