Hello to all,

I need to know if after you finish pickling a rattle snake skin after 24 hours , after removing the skin from the pickling solution citric acid pickle or saftee acid pickle if I should neutralize the snake skin by using the same method I use for mammal tanning a ounce of baking soda per gallon of water and let it soak for 15 mins, or could I just neutralize with laundry detergent. Or on snakes do I not need to neutralize, I have reading the archives and using the orange button. I see no questions or instructions posted on neutralizing a snake skin or if it is even necessary."

Best Regards

Matthew

With the Van Dykes reptile tan you are using, no you do not neutralize.
