i wanted to do a soft tan for some coons that i have skinned im new to taxidermy and seen you talk about breaking for soft leather how is that done

tumbler is best, but you can work it by hand also. just start streching the hide when it starts to dry and work it over a broom handle until soft.

get the McKenzie video. It shows all that in it. They sell a kit for doing it. It is a lot of work getting it really soft. The kit includes the tan, oil and video and I think it's less than $20. Hope it helps

Yup! That guy Paul Thompson shows it in great detail! But man alive that guy needs to lay off the polish on that bean pole! The glare was killin me! LOL! Had to. Sorry Mr.T. (as the hair starts to recede on my own bean)
