A loss of 6 lbs. from raw to tanned, does that sound about right? Seems about right.

Yep, Sounds right to me! That's only - 1.5 oz. per fox. Seems just perfect.
Minus the raw fats and oils. Plus any shaved skin material.
Only thing added would be the tanning oil. And that is very light and they dry to perfection.

I messed up... shipment was 58 skins weighing 62 lbs., skins returned weighed 39 lbs., box itself weighed 4 lbs., and there is a LOT of over-shaving and lots of little missing feet. Had a feeling there was a problem.
