Para-soft tanning oil

How long after oiling a lutan f tanned deer cape with para-soft until i can freeze it? I want to mount at a later time. If the hide never dries out before mounting will the oil keep the hide paste from sticking?

Thanks for the help.

Roll it up flesh side to flesh side and let it sweat for at least 8 hours. Over night is fine. Then freeze.

You want your skin to be supple but not overly oiled. Keep that in mind when oiling it. Para-soft gets the job done very well but an overly oiled hide isn't a good thing. I'd agree with jrosbor, let the skin out overnight but I wouldn't roll it up unless you want some parts of your hide to be better oiled than others. Because oil will pool and move on the skin if it isn't absorbed completely yet. In the morning, check your hide with your hand, if some parts feel more wet than others let the oil absorb for a few more hours. If it takes any more than 15 hours for your hide to be "dry" (as dry as it should be with oil in it) than you put alittle too much on. Freeze the hide and you should be fine. As for the oil keeping the paste from sticking, that's no problem. Most of the oil will be within the skin after freezing, the paste will stick just fine.
