I'm in desperate search of a good recipe for a tanning acid solution. Any availible help or knowledge on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Also a good pickle solution recipe would be great!

Acid Tanning?

I'm sure that you didnt mean "acid tanning". That was the old "quickie/cheapie" way of pickling, neurtralizing and oiling the skins instead of tanning them with a tanning agent after neutralizing and before oiling. They looked good for a few years and slowly but surely began to fall apart from the acid left in the fibers. Nowadays - there are several good tanning agents to choose from, and acid tanning is no longer used. If you need formulas - we offer free formulas for tanning and pickling on our Rittels website. These give you formulas for using all the pickling acids and all the popular tannages. Or E-Mail me your postal mailing address and I'll forward them to you
